Welcome to the August Sunnyland Neighborhood Association Meeting!
Input from neighbors is most important and always valued so please speak up and let your voices be heard. However, anything that needs to be voted on is done so by the board members with all consideration to what the neighborhood wants and needs.

Introductions:
Chair Tripp invited everyone in attendance to introduce themselves, give their address and any neighborhood concerns. See sign in sheet for attendance.
New Business:
1. Motion: Approve minutes from 11/20/07 meeting (board vote). Approved.
2. NWClean Air Agency Speaker – Julie O’Shaughnessy, Compliance Manager-See handout for powerpoint presentation. Many neighbors expressed concerns about odors in the neighborhood and the NW Clean Air staff explained policy and procedures for reporting odors and what the agency was doing to bring local businesses into compliance.

4. Top priorities for the 6-year transportation plan. Due March 1- Traffic Committee to bring list of priorities to the February board meeting for approval.
Theresa asked Hugh and his committee to bring a list of priorities to the February meeting. Hugh suggested that SNA take measures to clarify and document what the city asks from SNA so after doing all the work, the city can’t change the priorities.
Top priorities for traffic safety. Due April 1- Traffic Committee to bring list of priorities to the March board meeting for approval. Theresa asked Hugh and his committee to bring a list of priorities to the March meeting.
5. COB Small and Simple Grant of $2500. Due February 15- Vote to approve "round two" of tree planting unless someone brings up another fabulous idea.
The decision would be made tonight as the grant is due before SNA meets again. Hugh suggested we apply for the grant for soccer goals and tree. Hugh would research the City Parks and BSD approving the soccer goals.
Mary Anne Stuckart moved, Mickey McDiarmid seconded for SNA to apply for the Small and Simple Grant of $2500 for neighborhood trees and soccer goals for Memorial Park/Sunnyland Playground.
6. Neighborhood Planning Committee – Patrick McKee
Erin will do a data down load by the end of the month. There are no planning meetings scheduled as we are waiting to hear from the City Planning Commission regarding the DOT zoning. SNA and the developers presented zoning proposals.
7. Mayors Neighborhood Advisory Commission- Patrick McKee
1st public meeting on Feb. 6 at the Boathouse regarding the Park’s dept comprehensive plan. The City will have a new Planning Academy. The starting date will be on the City Website.
8. Treasurer’s Report- Hugh Conroy
$ 660.00 Dues Collected from 107 members
$1000.00 Neighborhood Support Money from City.
$2500.00 Planning Grant for Liz attending the Academy
$3045.00 Small and Simple Grant plus donations for trees
$1099.00 Balance in Checking Acct.
